Create an agent with a narrow objective and define what information it may collect or actions it may perform. Test the prompt and voice behavior before making outbound calls or publishing an inbound number. Route sensitive operations through authenticated backend endpoints rather than trusting values spoken during the call. Add explicit fallback behavior for unclear audio, repeated failures, or requests outside scope. Review call logs and outcomes during a limited rollout, and ensure consent, disclosure, recording, and telemarketing requirements are satisfied in every jurisdiction where the agent operates.

For a first evaluation, keep the scope small enough that you can compare the AI-assisted result with a known baseline. Record the configuration, model or workflow choices that produced the result so successful tests can be reproduced. If the product connects to external systems or private data, grant the minimum permissions required and review the provider's current security and data-handling documentation before expanding access.
