Comet

Begin with a specific research question that matches Comet's purpose: AI browser from Perplexity for contextual web assistance, research, and agentic browsing workflows. Add useful constraints such as date range, discipline, geography, document set, or the type of evidence you need. When the tool supports uploads, provide the primary documents instead of relying on a vague description of them.

Use the first response to discover sources and terminology, then refine the search. Open the strongest citations and read the relevant sections yourself. For literature tools, inspect abstracts and methods before relying on a summary. For document chat, ask the system to identify where an answer appears in the source. For web agents, compare important claims across independent sources.

Keep a record of the source URLs, paper identifiers, search terms, and filters used for important work. Do not treat a fluent answer as proof that a source exists or says what the model claims. If the product generates citations automatically, test a sample for title, author, date, URL, and claim-level accuracy.

Before using sensitive or unpublished material, review retention, training, sharing, workspace permissions, and deletion controls. Pricing is currently classified as subscription, but confirm current plan and usage limits directly with the provider.
