Westlaw Precision with CoCounsel

Start with one bounded task that matches Westlaw Precision with CoCounsel's core purpose: generative AI legal research workflow grounded in Westlaw content for researching questions and producing source-linked legal analysis. Use a non-critical matter or a previously reviewed document first so you have a reliable reference point. State the jurisdiction, document type, parties, commercial position, playbook, or research question clearly where those details affect the result.

Keep the source material visible while reviewing AI output. For research, open cited authorities and verify that the proposition is supported. For contracts, compare every suggested redline with the original clause and defined terms. For compliance workflows, require traceability from a flagged requirement back to the governing policy, regulation, evidence, or control.

Do not allow generated text to become a filing, executed agreement, legal opinion, or consequential compliance decision without appropriate professional review. Check names, dates, citations, monetary values, obligations, exceptions, cross-references, jurisdiction, and confidentiality before relying on the output.

Before production rollout, review privilege and confidentiality, retention, model-training terms, role permissions, audit logs, data residency, integrations, and professional or regulatory obligations.
