1
Start by opening Replit's official site and reading the getting-started documentation before connecting it to an important project. Create the required account, confirm the current plan or usage limits, and generate credentials only if the workflow needs them. Keep API keys and tokens in environment variables or a secrets manager rather than pasting them into client-side code.
2
Begin with the smallest working example. Follow the official quickstart, run one request or simple task, and inspect both the output and any usage information. Once that works, adapt the example to your real application and add the surrounding validation, error handling and user experience instead of trying to build the entire integration at once.
3
Use Replit's documentation to choose the right model, feature or workflow for the job. Test realistic inputs, measure latency and quality, and watch usage or billing as you iterate. If the product generates code or makes autonomous changes, review those changes before merging or deploying them.
4
For production use, add sensible retries, logging, rate-limit handling and spend controls where applicable. Re-check the official docs when behavior changes, and never assume that a consumer subscription automatically includes developer/API usage unless the provider explicitly says so.
